The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday at 6:30pm. After approving the Consent Agenda which included the Resignation of Red Med Director Steve Zimmerman, his wife, Employment Benefits Coordinator, Amy Zimmerman and PE Teacher/Softball Coach Tommy McClure, approved the renewal of Alio maintenance in the amount of $63,127.07. This covers Alio Financial, HR, Employee Service Portal, Time Clocks and hosting of the District’s data.

The Board also approved the purchase of Spanish Literacy Classroom Libraries for Prairie View Elementary’s Dual Language Program, in the amount of $67,141.28, and approved United Talent Professional Learning in the amount of $17,250.

For K-5 students the purchase of headphones from B&H in the amount of $44,090.68 was approved as was intervention kits for the K-5 classrooms for $26,250.

The 2021-22 AVID agreement for both middle schools was approved in the amount of $23,558 and the purchase of the Digital Trophy Case from Nanonation in the amount of $14,145 was approved. Funds for the Digital Trophy Case came from a Carl Perkins Grant – $5100, and the LHS Alumni Class Fund – $9,045.

A  compact utility tractor for the grounds department was approved from Keating Tractor, of Liberal in the amount of $40,498.00 and the purchase of the Titan software suite for food service was also approved in the amount of $22,510.

The Board of Education also approved Resolution 05-24-21 adopting the Kansas Homeland Security Region D Hazard Mitigation Plan.
