Seward County Commission Meets, Approves Guardian ad Litem Contracts

The Seward County Commission met Monday evening at 5:30pm and after reviewing and approving several CRF Funding requests, approved a request from K-State Extension to install acoustic panels to the walls in the 4-H building to help control the echo.

Commissioners accepted the low bid from Murphy tractor for a 2020 John Deere 670G grader. Murphy allowed $42,000.00 trade in for a 2006 CAT 140H.

As far as the County’s website regarding COVID updates, the Commission agreed to put together a team to work on revamping the county’s website.

The Guardian ad Litem contracts were awarded by the Commission. The Commission received seven letters of interest from:

Barbara Nash
Dakota Lamb
David West
Elsa Fraire
Haley Sharp
Jacob Fitzgerald
Melinda McElheny

The three receiving the contracts were, Barbara Nash, David West, and Jacob Fitzgerald.

Approved also was for the County Commission to work with the County Administrator to approve a plan for pandemic pay for Seward County employees that have worked directly in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. There is $181,000 remaining in the salary proposal budget that the Commission had allocated for high turnover/hard to retain positions.
