SCCC to Begin Spring Semester with Remote Learning

Joe Denoyer - December 4, 2020 11:36 am

Seward County Community College will be starting the first week of its spring semester with remote-learning classes only. All classes will be conducted through remote-learning for the first week, from Monday, January 11 to Friday, January 15.

In-person classes will resume the following week, beginning on Monday, January 19. Students will be allowed to come on campus starting on that date or have the option to continue classes remotely.

“The rising number of cases in Seward County along with the potential quarantines following holiday travel prompted the decision,” said Luke Dowell, SCCC vice president of academic affairs and member of the COVID-19 response team. “Our goal is to get students on campus as quickly as possible but also as safely as possible. Limiting the number of students on campus to start the semester will reduce the possibility of spread of the virus after the holidays.”

Faculty will be available beginning Tuesday, January 5, but students should make appointments before coming on campus. Students are advised to check their e-mail as well as text messages for more information on their classes.

Students living in the residence halls will still move in at their scheduled time slots.
