Liberal Police Investigate Vehicle/Pedestrian Accident

On Thursday morning, October 1st, around 8:06AM, Liberal Police Officers were dispatched to the area of West 7th Street and North Western Avenue for reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at this location.  An investigation revealed that a collision occurred when a northbound pickup truck struck a 17-year old crossing eastbound at a crosswalk at this intersection near Liberal High School.  The 17-year old was transported to a local medical facility for treatment for minor injuries.  Inattention was believed to be a factor in this incident.  

Liberal patrol officers investigated the accident on scene.  Charges are currently pending against the driver.
