Dunaway Manor Closes Visitation

Joe Denoyer - August 24, 2020 2:41 pm

Effective August 26, 2020 Dunaway Manor and Heritage Community will be closed to visitation except for cases where a neighbor in the building has entered the end of life stage. We are sorry to have to end the visitation we have been allowing since June 26, 2020, but the cases of COVID in Guymon and Texas County continues to spiral upward, and the Federal Government has changed the status of the City of Guymon and Texas County to level red, which puts us in level 1 status where no visitation except for hospice and end of life is allowed.

Dunaway Manor and Heritage Community will remain closed to visitation until such time as our COVID cases decline significantly, and the Federal Government lowers the status of Guymon and Texas County to a status where we are allowed to put visitation back into place.

Neighbors that reside at Dunaway Manor and Heritage Community will still be allowed to leave for doctor’s appointments and will not go on quarantine as long as the OSDH and CMS rules are followed. Any neighbor that goes to the ER, or is admitted to a hospital will be put on a 10-day quarantine when they return to Dunaway Manor or Heritage Community.

For any neighbor that goes on end of life or hospice limited family visitation will be allowed. The visitation will have to be scheduled ahead of time, and the visitors will have to pass the required temperature and questions, and wear a mask, gown and gloves while in the building.

The team at Dunaway Manor and Heritage Community will assist our families and neighbors in communicating on the phone and devices, but we cannot allow windows to be opened in the neighbor’s rooms for communication at any time.

Again, we are sorry to have to stop the visitation, but we have no choice but to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the President’s Task Force for COVID. Should you have any questions or desire more information you may call 580-338-3186 and ask for Dan Stiles, Campus Director.
