Seward County Commission Approves Extending COVID-19 Public Health Emergency

The Seward County Board of County Commissioners met Monday evening with a request from Stepping Stone Shelter to approve the submission of a  2020CV ESG Grant with Kansas and Housing Resources Corporation. The Commission approved the submittal.

Commissioners gave permission to bore a hole on Landfill property under 8th street for the City of Liberal’s sewer water discharge line.

The Noxious Weed Department request to allow the Department to sell a 2002 Sprayer to Shane Blackwood in the amount of $21,750.00 was approved.

The Commission purchased a 60 inch Zero Turn Radius mower from Keating Tractor in the amount of $5,432.70 for the Event Center.

The Commission approved paying the invoice for Jackson Lewis in the amount of $715 and also terminated the contract with Jackson Lewis.

Commissioners approved Resolution 2020-13 extending COVID-19 public health emergency through February 1st, 2021 or until otherwise rescinded by the Commission, and a created a Special Revenue Fund in which to place the Coronavirus Relief funds to be received.
