Saint Spikers Play Saturday at 11 AM in Dodge City

Smiles were abundant in the Green House Monday night. The Saints volleyball team clinched their first Jayhawk West title in six years Monday night. The Saints handled Dodge City (25-17, 25-10, 25-19). The fourteenth ranked Saints finish 11-1 in the Jayhawk West and are 26-9 overall. Dodge City is 12-15 overall and 2-10 in the Jayhawk West. Seward is the top seed for this weekend’s Region 6 Tournament at Dodge City. It was also Sophomore Recognition Night as Lindsey Miller (Dumas, Tx), Diana Castrillon (Segovia, Colombia), Taryn Westerman (Liberal), Kendra Sanders (Lewisville, Tx), Adrian D’Amico (Piedmont, Mo), and Amanda Savage (Wichita) were recognized before the match. SCCC head coach Bert Luallen will be a guest during the Sportsguys Wednesday morning on Talkradio 1270 and kscb.net. Seward plays Saturday at 11 AM in Dodge City against the winner of Colby and Barton. If Seward wins they play Saturday at 5 PM. The championship is Sunday at 1 PM with an if necessary game Sunday at 3 PM. The other Friday first round matchups pit Pratt against Dodge City and Garden City against defending Region 6 champ Hutchinson.
