Joe Denoyer - October 2, 2019 4:26 pm

On Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at approximately 12:47 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to Kansas Avenue and Parkway Boulevard for a report of an injury accident. Witnesses reported a car crossed the median on Kansas Avenue and struck a parked car at 7 W. Parkway, the USD480 office. Responding officers found that a 1992 Acura had collided with a 2015 Dodge Journey and a 2010 Chrysler. Both of the parked vehicles were unoccupied.

Investigating officers found that a 31 year old female was driving the Acura north on Kansas Avenue with a 4 year old female passenger. The Acura left the roadway and drove through the median, crossing the opposing lanes of traffic and through the opposite ditch. The Acura struck a gas vent pipe and stop sign before colliding with the parked vehicles. The occupants of the Acura were not injured. No other injuries were reported.

The driver of the Acura was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and child endangerment.
