Friday Accident Results in Possible Injuries

On Friday, September 20, 2019 at about 4:22 p.m., officers of the Liberal Police Department responded to the 100 block of E. 15th to an accident with possible injuries. Upon their arrival, they found that the vehicles were disabled in the roadway.

Officers learned that a silver 2017 Chevy Traverse, driven by a 40 year old female had been attempting to cross 15th from the Dillon’s parking lot and struck a white 2016 GMC pickup driven by a 23 year old male. The Traverse sustained major front end damage, including airbag deployment. The pickup sustained significant damage to the driver’s side. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The driver of the pickup stated he would seek treatment later for possible injuries received in the accident. The driver of the Traverse was issued a citation for failure to yield.
