Carlile and McCaffrey Lead Bee Jays Toward 2010 Season

KSCB News - October 6, 2009 12:00 am

For the second consecutive year, Nathan McCaffrey and Bob Carlile will run the Liberal Bee Jays. The BJ Board of Directors voted McCaffrey as president for a second year and Carlile as general manager for a third year. Matt Friederich is the team’s vice president while Jay Hays is treasurer and Lynetee Harvey is the secretary.

McCaffrey attended the Jayhawk League meeting in Wichita several weeks ago. The league grew by one as the Haysville Heat move from Havasu, Arizona to south central Kansas. The teams will play an unbalanced schedule as Liberal will play eight games against the Dodge City A’s and Hays Larks and six against the Heat, Derby Twins, and defending national champion El Dorado Broncos. The Broncos, Twins, and Heat will play each other eight times a piece. Liberal’s coach is John Martin but the team has not named an assistant coach. The BJ’s went 34-20 this summer and placed third in the NBC World Series.
