Redskins Get by Guymon

It wasn’t pretty for the Liberal Redskins or Guymon Tigers Tuesday night in the Big House. With freezing fog outside, both teams seemed to have a hard time finding the basketball in the second game of this season’s home and home. Liberal held on to win 41-35.
The Redskins led early 16-8 and led 17-14 at the half. The Skins took a 30-25 advantage at the end of three. Liberal led by 11 at 38-27.
Guymon was 2-22 from three point range. Liberal was just 8-15 from the free throw line. LHS was 4-16 from three point range and shot 41 percent from the field.
Syris Dunlap led the Redskins on this night with 12 points, eight rebounds, and took two charges. Jordan Mendoza and Braxton Hyde had seven a piece.
Liberal has won 10 in a row over the Tigers and 14 of the past 15. Liberal is 9-5 overall surpassing last year’s 8-13 record. Guymon is 4-17. The Skins host Dodge City Thursday night at about 7:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net. Guymon hosts Hooker Friday.
