KSCB News - September 17, 2009 12:00 am

Members from the USD 480 Board of Education, State Board of Education, Central Office Administration, and two members of Kansas United States Senator Pat Roberts staff gathered at McDermott Elementary on Thursday with Principal Kathy Fitzgerald for a tour of the school that included stops in classrooms who participate in the Dual Language and Success for All Programs.

After the tour the school had an assembly welcoming the visitors. Fitzgerald was then presented a letter from one of Senator Robert’s staff members that was written and signed by Roberts commending Fitzgerald on her work at McDermott and for participating in the Success for All Program. Robert’s letter also thanked all of the teachers at the school for their hard work and dedication.

McDermott received the Governor’s Achievement Award in 2008.
