USD 480

The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday evening and re-elected Steve Helm as President and Stewart Cauble as Vice President for the 2018-2019 school year.  The members approved several annual appointments and resolutions including the continuation of Rick Yoxall as board attorney and Hay, Rice & Associates at the district auditor.

In new business, speakers for the sound systems of LHS auditorium, Gary Cornelson Sports Complex, and the LHS gym were approved.  120 desktop computers in the LHS business labs will be replaced with newer machines to better meet the needs of students and teachers. Liberal Kenworth was awarded the low bid to replace wheel bearings on two student activity buses as part of regular maintenance.  Finally, food service requested permission to continue the district’s participation in the USDA’s Fresh Fruit and Produce program, allowing students at the five elementary schools access to healthy snacks daily.
