Joe Denoyer - May 22, 2018 3:50 am

USD 480

The USD 480 Board of Education met in regular session on Monday evening and recognized the May Chamber Teacher of the Month, Griselda Estrada, an ESL teacher at Meadowlark Elementary.  The Liberal Fargo Masonic members were also on hand to present the Spring 2018 Masonic Exemplary Awards to one teacher and student from each building.

In new business, the BOE approved a variety of items including adding portable bleachers for the fields at both middle schools, new playground equipment for Bright Start Early Learning Center, curricular and technology infrastructure needs, installation of a keyless entry system for all schools, and the implementation of 1:1 Chromebook initiative for students at LHS, EMS, and SRMS beginning in the fall of 2018.  In addition, the BOE tabled a request from LHS to use space at McKinley for the new fire science program until May 23 and continued discussions on how to use the remainder of the bond funds that need to be spent by June 2019.
