Arrests Made in Homicide Investigation

On Thursday, April 12, 2018, the Albuquerque Police Department arrested Michael Moore, 26, pursuant to an arrest warrant issued in Seward County District Court. The arrest was for first degree murder regarding the homicide of Luis Moreno. Mr. Moore was arrested without incident. He is currently being held at the Bernalillo County Jail awaiting extradition with a $500,000.00 bond.

On Monday, April 16, 2018, the Albuquerque Police Department arrested Diana Moreno, 27, pursuant to an arrest warrant issued in Seward County District Court. The arrest was for first degree murder regarding the homicide of Luis Moreno. Ms. Moreno was arrested without incident. She is currently being held at the Bernalillo County Jail awaiting extradition with a $500,000.00 bond.

On Thursday, November 2nd, 2017, the Liberal Police Department received a missing person report regarding the disappearance Luis Moreno, 39, of Liberal. It was reported that Mr. Moreno had been missing for several days.

On Wednesday, November 15th, Liberal Police Department investigators were notified that Mr. Moreno was found deceased in rural Sherman County, Texas. Texas authorities suspected foul play. A subsequent autopsy confirmed Mr. Moreno’s death was a homicide.

On Wednesday, November 22nd, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Moreno’s estranged wife, Nancy Moreno, 42, of Liberal. She was arrested without incident and is currently awaiting trial.

The Albuquerque Police Department assisted with the investigation and apprehensions. The investigation of this incident is ongoing.
