Joe Denoyer - March 19, 2018 3:25 pm

The LHS Forensics Team competed in the CFL National Qualifier on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Marysville High School. The team ended up in 3rd place and qualified 7 students and 5 events to the National Forensics Tournament in Washington D.C. I have attached a picture and the Individual results are as follows:

Brooklynn Sellars finished in 7th place in Oral Interpretation of Literature, and qualified for Nationals.

Neveah Hickey finished in 6th place in Dramatic Performance, and qualified for Nationals.

Edgar Rodriguez and Joseph Zacarias finished in 4th place in DUO, and qualified for Nationals.

Karlo Flores finished in 4th place in Extemporaneous Speaking, and qualified for Nationals.

Carlos Balderas and Eduardo Avila will be competing in Policy Debate at Nationals.

Other medals and awards:

Melvin Le finished in 6th place in Oral Declamation. He missed qualifying for Nationals by one place.

Joseph Zacarias finished in 3rd place in Original Oration, which qualified him for Nationals. However, he can only participate in one event at Nationals, so he will be competing in DUO with Edgar Rodriguez.

Carlos Balderas finished in 8th place in Extemporaneous Speaking, missing the qualification for Nationals by 3 places.
