Railroad Crossing Repairs to Begin in Meade County

Union Pacific has announced plans to repair the K-23 railroad crossing in Meade on Saturday, March 24, weather permitting.  The crossing will be closed during the repairs with a detour in place.  Southbound K-23 traffic north of Meade will be detoured to K-98 east to U.S. 54 in Fowler.  Northbound traffic south of Meade will be detoured east on U.S. 54 to Fowler and then west on K-98.

Union Pacific has also announced plans to repair the U.S. 160 railroad crossing in Plains on Wednesday, March 28, weather permitting.  The crossing will be closed during the repairs with a detour in place.  Eastbound U.S. 160 traffic will be detoured to U.S. 83 south to U.S. 54 in Liberal and then east on U.S. 54 to Plains.  Westbound traffic will be detoured west on U.S. 54 to Liberal and then north on U.S. 83 to U.S. 160.
