Marlatt Resigns Effective Immediately

Joe Denoyer - September 12, 2017 10:17 pm

State Sen. Bryce Marlatt resigned Tuesday, six days after being charged with sexual battery because of an Uber driver’s complaint.

In his three-sentence resignation letter, Marlatt, R-Woodward, thanked his constituents but did not admit to any wrongdoing.

The resignation was effective immediately.

“My service on behalf of the people of Northwest and the Panhandle of Oklahoma has been the privilege of my career,” Marlatt wrote in the letter delivered to Gov. Mary Fallin. “I would like to thank my constituents, friends and, most importantly, my family for the confidence they have placed in me and the kindness they have shown me during my tenure.”
