UnitedHealthcare Makes Check Presentation to Minneloa Hospital

Joe Denoyer - August 17, 2017 8:04 am

Dr. John Esslinger, chief medical officer of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Kansas, presented a $48,000 Frontier Rural Health Care grant to the Minneola District Hospital. The check presentation took place Wednesday August 16. UnitedHealthcare established the Frontier Rural Health Care grant program earlier this year to fund organizations and programs aimed at improving health resources and programs in rural areas of Kansas.

Minneola District Hospital currently serves approximately 4,000 residents of Clark, Ford and Meade counties and will use the grant to provide integrated behavioral health therapy services by screening patients for depression and drug and alcohol dependency, providing inpatient services and implementing post emergency department phone calls for chronic users.
