KDOT Announces Resurfacing Project To Begin

Joe Denoyer - July 13, 2017 10:42 am

The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin highway resurfacing of US-50 beginning at the Cimarron east city limits and continuing east to the U.S. 56/283 junction in Ford County.  Resurfacing is scheduled to begin Monday, July 24, 2017.

US-50 will be reduced to one lane guided by a pilot car during working hours with an approximate delay of 15 minutes during the project.  The project is expected to be completed by late October weather permitting.  KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.

APAC Kansas Inc. Shears is the primary contractor on the project with an approximate construction cost of $3.1 million.

For more information on this project, please call Joyce Muhlenbruch, Construction Engineer, at (620)227-6122 or Lisa Knoll, KDOT District 6 Public Affairs Manager, at 620-765-7080.

You can stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas at www.kandrive.org or by calling 5-1-1.
