Usborne Book Drive To Benefit St. Francis Community Services

Joe Denoyer - June 22, 2017 3:52 pm

From Elkhart to Haviland, in 13 counties in Southwest KS, 50 kids each month find their way suddenly taken from their families and thrust into completely new environments as they enter foster care. This is such a terrifying time, and kids often feel totally lost, alone, and confused. While you may not be able to welcome any of these precious ones into your house as a foster parent, you CAN provide them with something very tangible to call their own and become an anchor to cling to. Your donation today will help provide books, activity books, and even accompanying stuffed toys, to show these kids that they are not forgotten and to help give them hope.

Literacy is a luxury enjoyed by only the world’s very privileged — yet it is so vital to what we consider “success.” Not only that, but reading is also foundational in helping to build relationships between kids and adults in their lives, and in helping kids to learn their place in the world. Every single dollar you donate will go toward purchasing gifts for these kiddos. But wait, there’s more! Usborne Books and More will MATCH every dollar donated by 50%! This means that you can “sponsor” a child for only $14 to provide them with life-changing, inspirational books of their very own. Can you help us??? The clock is ticking — Donate at the Book Drive button on www.kscbnews.net
