The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin highway resurfacing of U.S. 83 beginning at the Finney/Haskell County Line and continuing approximately 8 miles north in Finney County.  Resurfacing is scheduled to begin Tuesday, June 6th.

U.S. 83 will be reduced to one lane guided by a pilot car during working hours with an approximate delay of 15 minutes during the project.  The project is expected to be completed by mid-July, weather permitting.  KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.

Venture Corporation of Great Bend is the primary contractor on the project with an approximate construction cost of $1.2 million

.
