SCCC Conducts Service Award Ceremony

Joe Denoyer - May 16, 2017 3:23 pm

Seward County Community College recognized team members for years of service in an all-campus ceremony Tuesday morning. College president, Dr. Ken Trzaska, expressed appreciation to employees who have served for many years.
“At the end of the day, everyone plays a part. I’ve only been here a little less than two years, but our work here has been inspiring, challenging, and something that I find meaningful each day,” he said. “Each day means something to our progress as an organization, and I appreciate each person who has a role in that process. Today we recognize team members who represent that dedication to our mission. At the end of the day, it’s about changing young peoples’ lives and our nontraditional students’ lives, having the opportunity to serve them.”
Service awards were presented to Aly Call, Travis Combs, Jennifer Farmer, Andy Highfill, Sandon Hilditch, Lisa Kennedy, Lois Magner, Alex Widener, and Sharon Nickelson — five years; Steve Armstrong, Celeste Donovan, Tanya Dowell, Brad Kearn, Wade Lyon, Alaina Rice, and Kim Zant — 10 years; Denice Paden and Sheila Scheib — 15 years; Frances Brown and Dennis Guild — 20 years; Suzanne Campbell, Joy Fosdick, and trustee Ron Oliver — 25 years. Retirees were also recognized: Steve Armstrong, Tina Cota, Lavena Davis, Tammy Doll, Lynn Gerstenkorn, Bill McGlothing, and John Ratzlaff.
