“Topping Off” Ceremony at “New” MacArthur School Site

Joe Denoyer - November 9, 2016 4:25 pm

Today marked a major milestone  in USD 480’s school construction project – the “topping off” ceremony!  It’s customary for the last beam of a construction project to be painted white and signed by all the construction workers and the people involved in the building. It’s raised and set and the building is built with the beam in place forever — hopefully!  An American flag and an evergreen tree is also placed on top of the structure as part of the tradition. This ceremony took place Wednesday at 2:30pm at the new MacArthur School site.

USD 480 administration and school board wants to publicly thank the community of Liberal, the hundreds of workers, and staff for the hard work and dedication in CREATING HISTORY!
