USD 480 To Conduct ALICE Drills

Joe Denoyer - November 7, 2016 10:14 pm

USD 480 schools will be conducting ALICE drills each month to provide opportunities for staff and students to prepare and practice options to enhance their safety during an active shooter/intruder event. The district will provide a specific drill to practice during the months of November – February. The following options will be taught, practiced and discussed: lockdown, barricade, evacuate and counter.

During March – May, a situation will be presented providing staff and students the opportunity to determine the best course of action they will take based on the information provided to them.

All schools will be participating in a “lockdown” drill during the week of November 14-18, 2016. This will be a drill only for staff and students to practice the appropriate option! If you have any questions, please contact a building administrator or Central Office.
