Dorothy L. Sargent, 86, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at her home in Liberal, KS .

She was born December 9, 1927 at Johnson, KS, the daughter of Marshall and Myrtle (Swisher) Portlock.

Dorothy was a graduate of Syracuse High School at Syracuse, KS.

She married Robert "Bob" Sargent on October 14, 1969 at Miami, OK. Bob preceded her in death on November 21, 2004.

She was a Cook at the Uptown Cafe and Court in Syracuse, KS. Dorothy enjoyed Bowling and her grandkids.

Her survivors include Four Sons – Terry Blair of Liberal, KS, Butch Blair and wife Andi of Irvine, CA, Jack Blair and wife Kathy of Hays, KS, Doug Blair and wife Debbie of Elkhart, KS; Three Daughters – Sandy Kilgore of Derby, KS, Marsha Younger and husband Mike of Derby, KS, Pam Clark and husband J.D. of Hartley, TX; One Sister – Delores Lindsey of Colorado Springs, CO. 14 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, One Great Great Granddaughter and numerous Nieces & Nephews.

In addition to her husband Bob and her parents she was also preceded in death by One Step-Son – Chris Sargent, One Step-Daughter – Caren Hantz, Two Grandsons, One Granddaughter and Three Brothers.

Visitation will be January 20, 2014 from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 pm at Miller Mortuary.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Miller Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Joe Gould Officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorials to SCCC/ATS Women’s Softball/Women’s Volleyball in care of Miller Mortuary.
