Deborah Sue De La Rosa

Deborah Sue De La Rosa , 63, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the Cancer Treatment Center in Zion, IL.

She was born December 7, 1950 in Dumas, TX, the daughter of Cloys and Betty Jean (Ledbetter) Monroe and attended high school in Amarillo, Texas. She has been a resident of Hugoton, Kansas for the past 47 years and loved working at the Stevens County Hospital where she started out as a CNA, then transitioned to the medical clinic, and later became the purchasing director for the hospital.

She is survived by her husband Ramon De La Rosa of Hugoton, KS and her three children. Daughter Kim Stutz and husband Gary of Albany, GA; son Roman Haehn of Dallas, TX and daughter Sonia Merz of Napoleon, OH. Her brother Arnie Monroe and wife Nina of Buckhannon, West Virginia. She is also lovingly remembered as “Grandma Debbie” and survived by her 8 grandchildren Sabra Stutz, Cassidy Stutz, Dylan Haehn, Dagan Haehn, Dane Haehn, Madison Merz, Karston Merz, and Triston Merz.

She was preceded in death by parents, her previous husband Richard Haehn, brother Terry Monroe, and nephew Timothy Monroe.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at the First Assembly of God Church in Hugoton, Kansas followed by burial in Liberal Cemetery.

Visitation time will be Thursday from 6pm – 8pm at the First Assembly of God in Hugoton, Kansas.

Memorial Contributions can be made to Sowin Seeds Ministry for the distribution of the “Seeds of Hope” daily inspirational devotional to cancer patients and their families in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
