Great Bend Survives Liberal’s Upset Bid

Liberal gave it a go. Liberal’s Lady Redskins led 37-32 after two Samantha Terrazas free throws with 1:20 to play. LHS led 38-35 with 17seconds left. But Great Bend sent a game they trailed most of the way to overtime and won 52-47 at Great Bend Friday night. LHS struggled at the free throw line going 17-30 while Great Bend was 23-38.

Liberal led by nine 15-6 in the second quarter and led 17-11 at halftime. The Lady Panthers came back to lead 27-24 after three.

Ali Lucero led Liberal with a career high 22 and was 13-20 at the free throw line.

Liberal loses their 10th straight game against the Lady Panthers. The Lady Skins fall to 3-11 overall and 1-3 in the WAC. Great Bend is 7-7 and 3-1 in the WAC. Liberal hosts Guymon Tuesday at 6 with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
