Redskins Blank Hays to Move into First Place Tie

The Liberal soccer team blanked the Hays Indians Thursday afternoon in Hays. Eliel Gonzalez scored three goals and dished an assist to lead the Redskins who led shots on goal 13-5. Brian Alvarez scored twice and added an assist. Pedro Lara added a goal and an assist and Giovanni Enriquez scored a goal and Jonny Del Val added an assist.

Liberal is 9-1-1 and 5-1 in the WAC tying them with Dodge City for first in the WAC. The Redskins play the Wichita West Pioneers Monday at 3:15 to begin the Wichita North Cup. LHS beat West 1-0 at the Wichita South Titan Classic September 1.
