LHS Girls Can’t Catch Cimarron

The #4 class 3A Cimarron Lady Bluejays ran past Liberal 66-48 in Cimarron Tuesday night. Cimarron led 25-18 after a quarter and 39-32 at halftime and led by as many at 20. Cimarron’s Ashtynn Burns, the younger sister of former Seward player Avery Burns, scored 27 and Morgan Ediger scored 17 points with Drake their to recruit her.

Liberal freshman Jada Mickens backed up her 18 point game against Hays with a career high 19. Her sister Jai Chapman scored 11 in the loss.

Liberal falls to 7-10 but keeps the number four spot in sub state as Maize South lost to Andover Central to fall to 6-10. The Lady Redskins play at #5 5A Great Bend Saturday night at 6 on 1270.
