KSCB News - September 12, 2013 6:47 am

The headlines and the lead to the story almost read differently. It was so close. The Seward volleyball team playing without setter Nacole Miller owned a 13-9 lead in the fifth set after Colby called timeout. But the Trojans scored the final six points to win the match 3-2 Wednesday night in the Green House. The Saints lost (25-23, 11-25, 11-25, 25-23, 13-15). Seward falls to 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the Jayhawk West. Morgan Riley had 11 kills in the loss and Annelise Sanchez added nine. Kristen Anderson had 27 assists and Carolina Gasparini and Kelci Bedingfield had 12 digs a piece.

Seward plays at Northeastern Colorado this weekend getting a rematch with Otero Friday at 2 and facing host and #20 Northeastern at 4. Saturday the Saints play #16 North Idaho at 11 and North Platte at 3.
