Seniors Aim for a Soaring Season in Hugoton

Hugoton has been gearing for this season. Most of Hugoton’s 13 seniors have been starters as underclassman and the Eagles still have made the playoffs in three of the past four seasons and were 4-6 last year.

Eighth year head coach Clint Merritt returns six starters on both sides of the ball including first team all GWAC Andrew Mendoza (Sr. G/DT) and Bradley Campbell (Sr. OL/LB). Mendoza is 5’10" 250 and Campbell is 5’10" 215.

Other key Eagles include: Sr. QB/CB Yates Sutton, Sr. FB/DE Reid Davis, Sr. RB/S Ross Davis, and Sr. center Luis Sanchez who is 6’2" 250.

Hugoton will be featured during the Sportsguys Monday between 7:37 and 9 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
