Not Enough for Lady Saints Against New Mexico

KSCB News - November 26, 2012 6:43 am

The Lady Saints couldn’t quite finish the deal. The Lady Saints led #14 New Mexico Junior College 50-45 only to see the Lady Thunderbirds (6-2) finish the game on a 28-11 run to sink Seward 73-61 Saturday at the Perryman Center in Garden City.

Seward struggled on offense shooting 35 percent from the field. New Mexico bullied Seward on the boards winning that stat 43-29. This game was tied at 27 at halftime.

Ricquia Jones scored 19 and dished six assists to lead Seward. Fabiana Monte scored 12 and grabbed five rebounds.

It’s NMJC’s third straight win over Seward. The 6-3 Lady Saints play Murray State and Coffeyville Friday and Saturday at 1:30 in the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
