KSCB News - August 29, 2012 2:07 pm

Katie Kline knows what it takes to win in the Redskin cross country program. She ran for the 2002 state championship team and now coaches the girls along with head boys coach Tyson McGuire. Kline returns five runners who helped Liberal take 7th at the state meet last October.

Senior Destyni Lucero took 28th at state last year and has made the state meet each season. Juniors Mercy Perez and Kim Francis were 45th and 96h respectively at state a year ago. Sophomores Janette Borunda and Vanny Diaz DeLeon were 65th and 99th respectively at state last season. Junior Madison Butler and freshman Abigail Rodriguez join the varsity this season. Liberal opens at Great Bend Thursday.
