City Commission Meets, Approves Crack Sealing Bid

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening at 5:30pm for thier regularly scheduled meeting. Among the items on the agenda, the Commission approved the contract with Charlesworth and Associates to provide risk management services for the City. They will again look closely at the insurance coverage for the City, make sure the City is adequately protected, and try to find savings for the City. Commissioners also moved Ordinance 4460 to a second reading, Amending the franchise agreement with the Zayo group, and also Ordinance 4461, declaring it necessary to approriate private property for City use. The property being discussed is on Purdue Street, north of 11th Street. The commission also approved the crack sealing bid to B & H Paving of Scott City for the annual crack sealing within the City. The area to be crack sealed is 11th Street north and Kansas Avenue west. Bill Hockett was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Board, and commissioners briefly discussed temporary food establishments. They will scheduled a work session on this matter, shortly after the 1st of the year.
