Savanah Clines Duck Takes 1st, Michells Chili Reigns Supreme

The Liberal Chamber of Commerce celebrated the 2015 Duck Festival in Bluebonnet Park on Saturday. There was food, fun and festivities all day long culminating with the “Duck Race” at 2:00pm. Activities throughout the day included vendors and non-profit organizations,bouncy houses, trike races,a kick the can contest, the Seward County United Way Chili, Soup, and Sweets Competition, play a Saint in basketball, and National Beef sold hamburgers for The Kaiser Carlile Family. Winners in the Duck Race, the top eight and the "Hard Luck Duck" were: Savanah Cline in 1st winning $5000, Tabby Young 2nd, $2000, Cody Denham 3rd and $1000, Kelly Kirk 4th,$500, Tori Underwood,5th, $400, Derek Davis 6th, $300, DLT, 7th $200,and C Dean Riney in 8th for $100. The Lucky Duck picked belonged to Steve Chaloupek and was good for $500.

In the Chili, Soup, and Sweets Competition Sponsored By the Seward County United Way, Jeff and Jackie Mitchell took 1st Place, while Lisa Hatcher came in 2nd, and Southwest Medical Center was Peoples Choice winner.

In the Corporate Trike Race, Team Call Cory took 1st Place. Celeste Donovan was the winner of the Ducky Poker Run with Amanda Collins in 2nd.
