Stevens County Crash Kills Two

The Kansas Highway Patrol confirms two people have died in a two-vehicle accident reported a little after 8 p.m. Tuesday about six miles south of Hugoton along Highway 25 in Stevens County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a semi was headed west on Stevens County Road D and an 04 Ford Expedition was headed North on K25. The semi failed to stop at the stop sign and hit the right front of the Expedition. The driver of the semi, 56 year old James Ford of Liberal was pronounced dead at about 9 p.m. One of the passenger in the Expedition, 47 year old Micaela Rascon of Hugoton was pronounced dead shortly after 9. She was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the Expedition 20 year old Enddy Bojorquez and passenger four year Jaysten Bojorquez were both injured and taken to Stevens County Hospital with injuries.
