Cargill To Close Garden City Plant, Move To Guymon

KSCB News - July 31, 2015 8:22 am

Cargill’s animal nutrition business, Cargill Animal Nutrition, 3680 Jones Ave., has announced that it will close its animal feed manufacturing facility in Garden City on Aug. 31.

Due to changes in market conditions and customer needs, the company made the decision to close the facility and move production to Cargill’s facility in Guymon, Okla., according to a news release from Cargill.

“This change will impact 10 positions, and we will do our best to support affected employees during this process to minimize the impact on them,” Charles Shininger, managing director for Cargill’s U.S. premix business, said in the release. “Where possible, we will identify employment opportunities for affected employees at other Cargill locations.”

Cargill will work with its customers throughout the transition to ensure they receive products and services without disruption.

Cargill provides food, agriculture, financial and industrial products and services to the world. Together with farmers, customers, governments and communities, it helps people by applying insights and nearly 150 years of experience.
