Equipment Malfunction Causes Milky Water in Liberal

This past weekend, the City of Liberal Water Department had an equipment malfunction which resulted in air being pumped in the lines. The only effect was that some areas had milky looking water due to the excess air. The air will dissipate out of the water leaving it clear in a few seconds. There are no harmful effects to using the water. The the city has one pump station taht is down for repair so some customers may experience intermittent lower pressure than normal. The city says they apologize for any inconvenience and will have the problems corrected as quickly as possible.
