Liberal Police Department Promotes Officers

The Liberal Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of the following officers.

Sgt. Jared Ratzlaff has been promoted to Lieutenant assigned to the Administration Division. Lt. Ratzlaff began his career with the Liberal Police Department in 2004. Since that time he has served as police officer, corporal and sergeant.

Cpl. Brant Helsel has been promoted to Sergeant assigned to the Operations Division. Sgt. Helsel began his career with the department in 2009. Since his employment he has served as a police officer, training officer and corporal.

Detective Ott has been promoted to Sergeant assigned to the Investigations Division. Sgt. Ott has 18 years of law enforcement experience with 12 of those years with the LPD.

Officer Jacob Cosper has been promoted to Corporal assigned to the Operations Division. Corporal Cosper has been employed with the Liberal Police Department since 2011 as a Police Officer.

Officer Jacob Hampton has been promoted to Corporal assigned to the Operations Division. Corporal Hampton began his career with the Liberal Police Department in 2012. During his tenure he has served as a Police Officer.

It is with great honor that the department presents the newly promoted officers to the community. They each went through a competitive process and demonstrated that they were prepared for the new challenges and exemplify the department motto of professionalism, accountability, commitment and teamwork.
