Summer Food Program Feeds Kids For Free

With summer right around the corner, it’s time to think about keeping children eating healthy while school is out. USD 480 provides free meals to children during the summer.
This summer, meals will be served at Washington Elementary, Cottonwood Intermediate, South Middle School and Liberal High School on Mondays-Thursdays June 1st – June 25th. This year USD 480 is also providing free lunch meals at the Memorial Public Library and the Liberal Youth Recreation Center on Mondays-Thursdays from June 1st –July 30th. This is the first year for serving meals into July! There are no income requirements or registration. Any child under age 19 may come to eat. Each year, the United States Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like USD 480* to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer.
