Hays Infant Found Dead In Unattended Car

The Ellis County Coroner and the Hays Police Department are investigating the unattended death of a three-month-old baby. Investigators believe heat may be to blame.
Hays law enforcement was contacted just before 3:30pm Thursday afternoon by a parent who said the infant was accidentally left in the car. Emergency personnel pronounced the infant dead at the scene.
Temperatures in Hays reached in excess of 90 degrees.
The coroner will determine an exact cause.
