Liberal City Commission Meets, Makes JEDC Board Appointments

KSCB News - March 11, 2015 8:30 am

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening at 6:30pm for their regularly scheduled meeting. Among the items on the agenda, the Commission approved funding to restore the OV-10 aircraft at the Mid America Air Museum and repair the leaky roof. Aqua Shield Roofing of Liberal will be doing the roof repairs.

Commissioners also approve an additional $4300.00 for the Kansas Small Business Development Center to help possibly relocate the offices from Garden City to Liberal. This additional funding would only be spent if Liberal gets the bid.

The commission also voted to deposit the proceeds from the 7th and Western property sale into a Ballfield Project Fund to pay for the construction, with any left over funds to be moved to the Streets, Drainage, and Capitol Improvements portion of the 1 cent sales tax.

In other action, the Commission renamed a road in the Industrial Park area to Wilcat Court, and appointed Dan Jarboe, and Roger Crossman to the JEDC Board.
