Kansas Wheat Harvest Almost Complete

Kansas wheat harvest 83 percent finished

The 2009 Kansas wheat harvest is nearly complete across most

of the state, with 83 percent of the crop now

in the bin.

In its weekly crop summary, the Kansas Agricultural Statistics

Service reported Monday that most of the remaining activity is in

the state’s northwest corner. Just 24 percent of the wheat has been

cut there.

The latest update rates 18 percent of the wheat still in the

field as in excellent condition, with 45 percent in good condition.

About 25 percent is in fair shape, with 12 percent in poor to very

poor condition.
