Symphony Society Sets First Orchestra Rehearsal

The first rehearsal for the Southwest Symphony Society orchestra will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 19 in the choir and band rehearsal room in the Humanities Building at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School. For more information about how to join the orchestra, contact the conductor, Mark Compaan, at 620-388-0206.

“We welcome new talent of all ages,” Compaan said, “and we would like to expand the size of our orchestra.”

Tentative dates for the concert season include Sunday, Oct. 12; Sunday, Dec. 7; and Sunday, May 3, 2015. Each concert would be at 2 pm.

The Southwest Symphony Society is a Liberal non-profit organization dedicated to promoting classical and contemporary music in the community utilizing the talents of local and professional musicians.
