USD 480 Purchases Land for New Schools

KSCB News - June 18, 2014 5:57 am

The USD 480 school board met for a special meeting Tuesday at noon. The board approved USD 480’s purchase of three tracts of land which came in a sheriff’s sale in southeast Liberal. The parcels of land are between Highway 54 and Pine Street south of Richard Rose. One new south middle school and elementary school will be constructed at that location after the district’s bond issue and half cent sales tax passes this spring. The District is closing in on purchasing another tract of land near that area and has agreements on the land for the other two elementary schools and one middle school in Liberal.
