Eight Area Students Receive TCEC Scholarships

Each year Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) awards eight students a $1,200 scholarship to Oklahoma Panhandle State University located in Goodwell, Okla. Entering freshmen or returning sophomores are eligible to apply for the scholarship which is administered through the Panhandle State Foundation. Applications are available through March 3, 2014 for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Scholarships are awarded based on the applicant’s financial need, community involvement and academic achievement. Students receiving a scholarship for the 2013-2014 academic year include:

• Checutah Beck-Ratzlaff of Goodwell
• Isaac Grove of Guymon
• Jared Loftis of Boise City
• Caleb Mihelic of Goodwell
• Jacob Murphy of Texhoma
• Elias Pitterle of Texhoma
• Logan Wilgus of Guymon
• Syndi Yates of Texhoma

“We hope these scholarships will assist the students on their journey to a higher education,” said Chris Purdy, TCEC’s vice president of member solutions. “Their hard work and determination were reflected in their entries and we wish these students the best in their endeavors
