Seward County Commission Meets, Makes Several Board Appointments

Seward County Commissioners met Monday evening at 5:30pm for their regularly scheduled meeting. Among the items on the agenda, Commissioners approved the purchase of a Catepillar Road Grader and a Ford pick up for the Road and Bridge Department. The road grader was purchased from Foley Equipment for $162,867.06, with the pick up coming from Foss Ford in the amount of $23,858.00. Seward County Commissioners also voted to remove all signage on County owned buildings allowing conceal carry in the buildings. The Commission also approved County employees the right to conceal carry on the job and in County owned vehicles. Several board appointments were also made by the Commission. These include: Council On Aging, Mary Lloyd, Darryl Long, and Karen Rinehart. JEDC Board, Mike Brond, Planning and Zoning, Gary Wyrick, and Rural Fire Board, Rustin Wettstein, Christine Standard, John Lee, Rod Lewis, and Greg Freelove. The Commission also apprved Uncollectable Write-offs, GAL contracts, and Great Plains Development dues.
