Seward County Commission Meets, Approves Mill Increase

The Seward County Commission met Monday evening at 5:30 for their regular meeting. Among the items on the agenda, was the Public Hearing for the County’s 2014 Budget. After some discussion, and comments from the public, the Commission approved the 2014 budget which reflects a mill levy increase of slightly less than 2 mills. Seward County Commissioners pponted CJ Wettstein as a Delegate to the Kansas Association of Counties with Jim Rice as the Alternate. After an Executive Session, the Commission came out and appointed Brock Theiner as Interim Director of the Seward County Landfill. He will remain in that position until January at which time the Commision will evaluate his performance. Theiner replaces Mike Tabor, who is leaving to take a similar position in another community.
