USD 480 Board Raises Mill Levy

The USD 480 board of education approved a mill levy increase of just over three mills at Monday night’s meeting. The district has had to hire new staff due to an increased number of students and assessed valuations in the county went down about six million dollars causing the need for the increased mill levy.

There was also a Vision workshop discussing the district’s facilities and space which was open to the public. People in attendance heard information from a bond underwriter giving information with regard to a possible bond issue. There will be another Vision meeting later this month.

The next school board meeting is August 19.
